Canopy Tour Montezuma Costa Rica

Canopy Tours

The property shares its southwest border with the Montezuma canopy tour. With 9 ziplines and 14 platforms, the tour is a safe, exhilarating way to explore Montezuma's rainforest ecosystem.

Isla Tortuga Costa Rica

Islas Tortugas

Isla Tortuga is the premier snorkeling and scuba destination in the Gulf of Nicoya. A fifty-minute boat ride, frequently accompanied by breaching and bow-riding dolphins, brings you to Tortuga's sandy beaches. The island is surrounded by reefs and clear, turquoise waters, teeming with life. Several tour operators shuttle visitors to the island, provide snorkeling or scuba equipment, and serve food and refreshments.

Playa Montezuma Costa Rica

Playa Montezuma

Montezuma's main beach exudes the laid-back, island feel for which the town is famous. Women fresh from a yoga retreat recline on towels watching surfers paddle into waves, children play in the shallow water, locals kick a soccer ball in the wet sand. If you work up a hunger swimming or surfing, or a thirst sunbathing, put on your sandals and walk three minutes to Montezuma's main street.

Playa Grande

North of Montezuma lies Playa Grande and the Nicolas Wessberg Absolute Nature Reserve. As its name implies, Playa Grande stretches for more than a mile of unbroken, white sand beach, ideal for surfing and sunbathing. Round the next promontory lies Playa Cocalito, at the northern end of which is the famous El Chorro waterfall, which drops from its cliff directly into the ocean.

Sport Fishing

The Pacific Ocean off the Nicoya Peninsula has some of the best fishing in Central America. Half- and full-day trips leave from Montezuma, and frequently land sailfish, marlin, mahi-mahi, wahoo, tuna, roosterfish, and snapper.
